Situated in a Melbourne suburb, this home had been affected by a fire event.
When the claim was received, MCA Group were made aware that the Insured had used a residential hose to douse the flames, and took it upon themselves to turn off the main power, attempting to keep their home and family safe from further affliction.
The unsuspecting Policy Holder found that their fridge, housed in the laundry, had caught alight due to an electrical fault.
MCA Group attended the property to carry out the initial inspection for the Insurance company. Upon attendance, the technician determined that along with fire remediation, drying works would be required. After ensuring their on-site report had been sent to the Insurer, outlining what works would need to be carried out, they were able to setup the appropriate drying equipment.
After gaining approval to remove approximately 2sqm of non-salvageable plaster, MCA Group was able to re-attend the premises to begin the fire remediation, while also attending to check the process of the drying.
At the remediation appointment, it was evident that the drying works had completed and prior to remediation, the technicians were able to complete their final drying report. Once the equipment had been removed from the affected areas, the attending technicians were able to install air purification units and begin works.
The technicians began by removing the non-salvageable plaster, before mirco-cleaning all surfaces, including the ceiling, tiled floor, remaining walls and within the laundry cupboards with a heavy-duty cleaner and degreaser. To finalise the works, the technician was able to go around the property identifying which repairs were remaining, and could list which trades had to attend, providing this list to the Insurance company to speed up the process.
