THE CHALLENGE

The owners of this northern-Sydney suburb home approached their Insurance company after an extensive water event affected their home. Due to the sloping block that the property was built upon, the home had suffered signifcant flooding with the garage have flood waters rise to 1 foot high.

MCA Group was appointed this water-related claim from the homeowners Insurance company, as we have immense experience in managing large claims such as this.

Upon the initial contact with the Policy Holder, we became aware that the water ingress was so severe that the car, which was in the garage, was inundated and had begun to float in the excess rainwater, and eventually had to be towed out.

The first assessment had the attending technician on-site for multiple hours, allowing them to capture the whole event. This appointment gave the technician the opportunity to discuss the event, the extent of damages and to talk through our processes with the occupants, and so we had the right information to pass onto the Insurance company.

MCA GROUPS WORKS

MCA Group organised all restoration works, which included removing any excess water, mud and debris from the garage and surrounding areas, such as the laundry. Once the areas were cleared, the attending technicians were able to use the latest equipment to pressure wash the garage and laundry, making the process quick and effective.  Before leaving the initial appointment, the technicians were able to configure the ideal drying equipment for the areas, to begin the drying process.

While the drying process was underway, MCA Group’s Customer Service Team Member’s worked with the Insurance company to gain approval to remove the non-salvageable items from the property. By organising a third-party waste disposal service, MCA Group was able to work around the occupants’ schedules, and remove all affected items, including small baskets to large electrical appliances.

MCA Group arranged follow up appointments to check on the process of the drying works, which included early morning to suit the working schedule of the occupants. Upon the final moisture check, the technicians were able to complete a detailed completion report, outlining that the areas were within the dry standard, by infrared imaging and moisture meters. In the final report, the technicians were also able to list which other trades were recommended to attend the property next, to fast-track any remaining works.
