THE CHALLENGE

This investment property was located in a historic coastal town near Geelong.

Upon initial attendance it was identified that the fire had start from the tenant’s electric heater. A thick layer of smoke was left covering the window furnishings, ceilings, walls, floor coverings, doors and contents of the bedroom, hallway and kitchen.

Although the fire was small enough for the property occupant to extinguish, the permeant damages to the bedroom where the heater was located included furniture, built in wardrobe as well as carpet and underlay which all had to be removed and replaced.

Whilst there was a small amount of non-salvageable contents and materials, The MCA Group was able to restore majority of the home in preparation for painting.

MCA GROUPS WORKS

MCA Groups technicians offered to clean and tidy up the affected areas on the initial attendance however the tenant requested they return at another time to complete the restoration.

Our scheduling team arranged a suitable appointment with the tenant and our technicians returned to the property. They began by installing air purification units to mechanically clean the air providing a clean environment for them to work in and remove any debris from the air. The attending technicians proceeded to being works in the bedroom where the fire originated, they began by remove the non-repairable ceiling panels, wall plaster, built in wardrobe and the carpet, underlay and smooth edge.

MCA Groups technicians then proceeded with removing the smoke soot from all the remaining surfaces and contents in the bedroom, hallway and kitchen within the one day allowing for the tenant to resume normal home life as quickly and smoothly as possible.
