THE CHALLENGE

This property located in a suburb south west of Melbourne’s CBD had experienced a previous roof leak causing water intrusion to the wall cavity in the bedroom. Any water event causes excess moisture and if the moisture if not correctly dried after the event occurs it provides an ideal environment for mould growth to occur.

MCA Group was contacted to perform mould remediation works.

For the MCA Group technician to effectively remediate the area, approval was gained from the insurance company to remove the non-salvageable gyprock wall around the window. Once any non-salvageable areas were removed the technician micro cleaned all hard surfaces with GM2000 biological decontamination product to remove mould growth and spores, as well as removing any visible mould staining with GM6000. Following this a fogging treatment was completed to ensure any indoor air quality levels were within acceptable mould ecology.

Whilst completing the mould remediation works, it was also identified that there was a currently leak below the window. The MCA Group technician installed drying equipment to ensure no further issues would arise.
