Surface Decontamination & Disinfection
There are reports that the COVID-19 virus can survive on some surfaces for up to 72 hours which emphasises the importance to keep commonly used areas clean. Consider how often hand rails on a set of stairs are touched by various people. Without a clean surface the potential for viral spread is greatly increased depending on the amount of people frequenting the area.
When completing surface disinfection we use a spray-wipe-spray method which involves the spraying of the surface with a hospital grade disinfectant and wiping away build up on the surface removing organic matter, salts and soils which can interfere with the disinfection process.
The process of wiping is an abrasive method (even when using a soft cloth) and will remove a substantial amount of microbial growth. This critical step of removing organic and non organic materials is as important as the germicidal activity of the disinfectant chemical itself.
Once cleaning is complete the cloth is discarded and the surface sprayed again and left to sit, completing the disinfection process.
Disinfectant Fogging (Air & Surface Treatment)
Disinfectant fogging is the process of dispersing a viral disinfectant as an aerosol similar to a fog or mist and is commonly used in industries like food and manufacturing industries.
Our mobile fogging solutions saturate the indoor environment reducing the number of micro-organisms floating in the air and micro-organisms which have settled on surfaces. Another added benefit is disinfectant fogging can reach hard to reach areas.
Depending on the size and area of the indoor space fogging treatments can range from 10 – 30 minutes, allowing the fog to travel and begin the disinfection process.
Following the fogging treatment the area will be sealed for 2 hours to allow the droplets to settle.
