THE CHALLENGE

This property located in the city of Newcastle was affected by a roof leak during a storm which occurred months before MCA Groups attendance. There had been reports of mould to the insurance company from the policy holder. MCA Group were appointed to attend for an inspection and potentially begin works on the day.

MCA GROUPS WORKS

MCA Group technicians attended the property to conduct an assessment within 24 hours once the work order was received. As the technician conducted the assessment it was evident mould growth had developed due to water ingress that occurred due to a previous storm.

MCA Group was prepared to begin the mould remediation on the day but at request of the policy holder we returned the following day to complete the works.

The works included removal of 4 square metres of ceiling plaster that had been deemed non-salvageable. Once the affected areas were treated and or removed, the MCA technician placed a temporary builder’s plastic on the ceiling. Following the remediation and repairs, the technicians performed a full room detail using the HEPA vacuum on soft furnishings and conducted a fogging treatment before carrying out an indoor air quality reading to ensure the air quality was acceptable.

Following this the property was now mould free and prepared for other attending trades and the policy holder to occupy a safe and healthy home.
