The smell of smoke is easily recognisable and can be overpowering. Carpets, and contents such as rugs and furniture can retain the smoke odour, even when the soot removal process is complete.
In order to remove the smell, you must follow the smoke damage from the fire to determine where it has travelled, and which items have had smoke pass through them. This step is critical to ensure the thermal fogging deodourisation process follows the same path.
Thermal fogging is an effective odour counteractant. The fog produced is a similar particle size to that of the smoke, and as such, can follow the same path, into small crevices and pores of materials in which the smoke previously penetrated.
When used correctly, the fogging process provides the most effective level of odour control available in the restoration industry.
